The anxiety surrounding Monday morning blues always starts on a Sunday night.
You have to get to work, avoid rush hour, get back to all the emails from clients, and manage to survive the first eight hours of the day.
And when you’re stuck at work, trying to come up with a brand new idea for a finicky client, a simple cup of coffee won’t do the trick. This is where Jazz music comes to the fore!
We, at Razzmajazz, love listening to traditional Jazz whenever we’re out of ideas. With that in mind, here are a couple of Jazz tunes to brighten up your Mondays:
Back Home Again in Indiana – Red Nichols and His Five Pennies
This song is perfect for a gloomy Monday morning when you come into work and need something to zap you back to life!
The original song was composed by James F. Hanley and the lyrics were penned by Ballard MacDonald.
The Red Nichols cover is nothing short of amazing and does justice to the original. It’ll make you want to get up, dance, and sing.
Weary Blues – Louisiana Five
The Weary Blues is perfect for Monday blues because of its sad, mellow tune. If you’re having a slow day, it’s the perfect song to wake up to, motivating you to get things done at your own pace.
Tiger Rag – The Original Dixieland Jass Band
This is a wonderful song to listen to if you need some motivation. It’ll make you want to get up and get things done like there’s no tomorrow!
Tiger Rag is also one of the most widely-covered Jazz tunes in history. You’ll mostly hear it at high school events. It’s perfect for lazy Monday mornings to cure the blues!
Just a Closer Walk — Razzmajazz Dixie Jazz Band
Of course, the list wouldn’t be complete without one of our own songs! We love this piece because we were inspired by traditional Jazz artists.
The mellow, slow-paced melody will put you in a good mood in no time! It’s relaxing and perfect for when you’re having a stressful Monday morning.
Listen to it before a meeting or after one and it’ll de-stress you instantly.
