Hiring a live band for a special event is a big decision. It sets the tone for the event. Ideally, you want a live band that keeps the audience engaged. You want their melodies and harmonies to be spoken about even after the event!
Finding the right live band for your event can be difficult. There are many myths that surround hiring live bands. Here are some of them debunked:
Myth: Hiring a band is cliché
Though there are many corny live bands out there, the Razzmajazz Dixieland Band assures nothing but the best. We’ve been providing music for years all across North Texas since 1984. We bring high energy to the events we perform at and encourage audience participation, providing a lively performance every single time!
Myth: They perform the same songs at all events
While some bands tend to stick to a few favorite songs that they’ve mastered, our musicians and artists always bring variety. Every event is unique and requires a unique vibe. We put in a lot of hard work and long hours into perfecting a variety of songs for different events.
You could always ask the band what songs they’re going to perform. If you’re looking for a particular tune, we’re happy to prepare it for you. Let the band know well in advance so that they can perfect it ahead of time!
Myth: A small band won’t have the same effect
Most people think it takes a village to make up a band. They think that more vocals and more instruments will always sound better. In reality, a 4 to 6-piece band is enough to get the party started! Live bands work around the fact that they don’t have an orchestra to work with. Likewise, our 6-piece band can take on any Dixieland, jazz, and swing songs.
Myth: They can’t recreate songs well
Many people expect live bands to sound just like their favorite song. That isn’t possible. The vocals and live instruments cannot mimic an original soundtrack. Likewise, if you want a jazz band to recreate an R&B song, it won’t sound right.
Myth: Live bands are too loud
Often people assume that a live band is too loud and that it would be physically uncomfortable to hear them. Live bands do a sound check before the performance and are very quick to adjust their volume. We’ve been doing it for years now and therefore have a pretty good idea of what level to set our instruments and microphones at.
Myth: Live bands are too expensive
This is one of the biggest myths why most event organizers never even approach live bands. While some bands to charge an exorbitant amount to perform, not all of them cost an arm and a leg. We provide the best music at the best rates!
When it comes to performing at events, our band is among the most skilled and experienced in the business!
